WebSep 16, 2024 · Normally when we think of battery corrosion, it occurs inside of the cell. It attacks the seals, which causes the electrolyte to leak out. In turn, the electrolyte can corrode the outside of that cell, nearby cells, the battery holder contacts, and the circuits of the device itself. Yuck. The battery's job is to store as much electricity as possible, as fast as possible.
