WebOn land near Sutton Road, northeast of the village, is the site of an Anglo-Saxon cemetery. Archaeologists had investigated the western part of the cemetery by the early 1930s. [3] In 2014 what appeared to be the easternmost part of the cemetery was found and more than 40 human burials were excavated.
